This last weekend…
So, I went down to my mother’s place in Ada this weekend. It was surprisingly nice! Seriously. Everyone there had grown up so much! I couldn’t even believe it.
Oh, and I got stopped twice by cops this weekend. Both times, only a warning. Luckily. But the first cop was rather surly, while the second one was nice. The second one made me want to stop the offensive driving I was doing, while the first made me want to punch him in the face and speed off. So, in late man’s terms… If you are a cop, be friendly. It could get people to obey laws a little more.

Hate is all the world has even seen lately.
I have just spent the last couple days trying to dig up old rock songs from my childhood.
Does anyone remember when Limp Bizkit was something cool simply because they seemed so weird and cutting edge?
Why did they become stagnant? I think I have come up with a solid answer. Before they got big, they only made music for themselves and the small group of fans that followed them. Then Faith hit. And all of a sudden LB needed to appeal to a large majority of fans. And the next album they released seemed to squash the thirst most fans had. But soon after that, LB seemed to loose their edge. Why? I think it is not because we became over saturated, but it is because LB tried to make songs people approved of. That is the major mistake most bands seem to make. I don’t know if it is the production company or the bands themselves, but someone decides that the next album needs to have a mass appeal. And in the quest to find the mass appeal the band looses what made them so amazing to begin with. Uniqueness.
Example:
Limp Bizkit – Counterfeit 1997
Limp Bizkit – Rollin 2001
As you can see, Counterfeit was angst ridden and rather dark. It is an example of what LB brought to the table at first. But Rollin was more of a club type of song. It is not the same type of rock.
LB was a prime example because at first they were so unique and cool and then 4 years later they were so hated. But other bands have seen this pitfall and found themselves face first in a steaming pile of their own greed.
Puddle of Mudd, Korn, Lit, and many others have changed their sounds to guffah and silence.
Staind is a prime example of taking a change in sound and running with it.
Staind – Mudshovel 1999
Staind – Its been awhile 2001
Both are good songs in their own right, but they are very different.
I know you probably have been reading thinking I would eventually have a point. Nope. Just an observation. Thanks for reading, though.

B-Spe and my thoughts…
Okay, so I have seen and heard alot about how Britney Spears is hot, once again. And yes, she is smokin. But here is the problem. She has been Federlined. Not only has she been Federlined, but K-Fed set up shop inside of her for about two years now. And that is only how long they have been married. Does no one else remember the “sexual favors” on the balcony thing? I still have nightmares about that. Also, people are commenting on how gorgeous she looked on D-Let’s show, that is David Letterman for those not following. I have the pic up right now and she is wearing a mommy tank top and some mommy shorts, both black. Now MILFs are cool and all but the clothes they wear, they are not sexy. Why am I saying this? Cause it needs to be said. In the last couple of weeks, men especially, have made a giant ruckus about how hot Brit is again. And, again, yes she is hot, smoking hot even, but the fact that she has been Federlined knocks her down a couple of marks in my book. From an 8 to a 5. I guess only time will tell on how I feel about her, but as for right now, I can do without it.
James.

wow these next two days are gonna be busy!
I can not believe there is only 3 weeks left in this semester. It sucks. Why? Because I am having to work to hard to get the math grade up. Everything else seems to be going just fine. But Math. I will be so excited when I pass this class and don’t have to do math anymore! That is gonna be sweet! The sooner the better.

So, I guess you have probably heard about the “little” trouble with Sony’s launch of their new console the Poorly Structured 3 or PS3 for short. In case you can’t tell, I HATE Sony. Seriously, HATE them. I won’t get into all the details, but lets just say they ripped me off by giving me a bunk machine. And their love for their fans is… well, they don’t love their fans. I can understand seeing things in a business sense but when you don’t even care about the people buying your product, you only care about the money they bring you, then you are heartless, cold, and indeed setup for failure. So, in case you haven’t heard, Sony undershipped on the launch day due to what they said was “waiting on the blu-ray players”. BS! If you care that much about blu-ray you would wait. And since NO ONE should care that much about blu-ray, they should have shipped without the player and then offered the player as an add-on, via xbox. Anyways, Sony undershipped, people waiting in line were either getting into fights, cause there were only 8-16 machines per store and they had about 30-40 people waiting in line per store. And then there were the shootings. Yes, SHOOTINGS over PS3. One was a drive by bb blast and another was a strait up mugging and shooting(with a shotgun, I believe). And for something that offers nothing new, just recycles things other platforms have done better. Even the UI (user interface) was reused from the psp! Cheap. I hate Sony, and this whole fiasco has made this and last year, some great years! Thanks Sony.
This also brings up the problem with preorders. If I go into a store and preorder a game, when that game comes out I want to go in and have it in my hands. Preordering is when you go in and say you want that. You put down the minimum payment, say $15, then before the thing is brought out you should, should pay for the whole thing. Ultimately saying, I want this, make sure I have one because I have already given you the money for it. Sony, they don’t care. Preorders or no. It was a first come first serve. And that is one major reason, Sony needs to be shut down. As you can probably tell, I see Sony as the enemy. I think that there business tactics are outdated, and are causing the gaming industry to regress. If the industry sees a collapse, via circa 1980, I believe it will be because of two things… Sony and EA. And for the same reasons. Outdated business practices and monopolizing areas.
After Sony’s friday “Royal Rumble” that was a “Royal Whimper”, sunday’s Nintendo Wii launch was really nice. No shootings. Everyone, that preordered, got what they spent the money early on. I wish I could afford one, these things look AWESOME! Oh well, christmas is coming up. And Nintendo does like their fans.
