New Web App of the day (August 28th, 2007)
When ever I find a new Web Application that I enjoy I like to share it with people. The best way to find great sites is to share findings with other people.
Today, I am going to share one of my favorite web apps. It is called meebo. Yes, with a lower case m.
What is meebo?
Meebo is an online IM (instant messaging) service that allows users to have all of their instant messaging clients up and running at the same time. Now, here is the best part, it is made for the situations when users either can’t download applications, because of computer restrictions, or don’t want to download applications. Every thing is hosted on the website. This works out really well for students. I started using the site because when I am on the school computers in the computer lab, the applications that can be downloaded are very limited and regulated. There is a pop out function, and it gives the IM client a normal and natural feel. The options are pretty limited with it though, but just as an IM service it works great. I have been using it for about a year now and have no serious complaints. I suggest that you go check it out and get back to me if you want to chat.

There is also a meebo me widget, if you look in the side bar of this blog you will see mine. Anytime it says I am on, you can contact me through meebo in real time.
