My Appologies and a Retraction.

August 28, 2007 at 4:29 pm (Uncategorized)

First off, I want to say that I am sorry to the few that come here to actually read my blog. I haven’t been on to post any new news in a long time. Hopefully, that will change.

Also, I want to retract a story that I posted from February 27th of this year. It was about how the Sony PS3 would, in all likelihood, not drop their prices until 2009. Of course, that was way off. I had never guessed that Sony would need to drop their prices to increase sales. Anyone that loves the business of video games, such as I do, knows the multiple reasons why Sony made this move. One was to help boost sales, another was to regain attention from the media and help push the PS3 name back out into the public, and yet another was to help liquidate the lower 20 GB hard drive model to make room for the 80 GB model. Anyways, I am sorry to lead those that read this blog on. My intention is not to do that…

Thanks for reading.

New Web App of the day (August 28th, 2007)

August 28, 2007 at 4:15 pm (Uncategorized)

When ever I find a new Web Application that I enjoy I like to share it with people. The best way to find great sites is to share findings with other people.

Today, I am going to share one of my favorite web apps. It is called meebo. Yes, with a lower case m.

meebo link

What is meebo?
Meebo is an online IM (instant messaging) service that allows users to have all of their instant messaging clients up and running at the same time. Now, here is the best part, it is made for the situations when users either can’t download applications, because of computer restrictions, or don’t want to download applications. Every thing is hosted on the website. This works out really well for students. I started using the site because when I am on the school computers in the computer lab, the applications that can be downloaded are very limited and regulated. There is a pop out function, and it gives the IM client a normal and natural feel. The options are pretty limited with it though, but just as an IM service it works great. I have been using it for about a year now and have no serious complaints. I suggest that you go check it out and get back to me if you want to chat.

Just an example of the interface

There is also a meebo me widget, if you look in the side bar of this blog you will see mine. Anytime it says I am on, you can contact me through meebo in real time.
